Discipleship: Faith

Faith is our substance and evidence according to Hebrews 11:1. In other words it is our proof of the answer until we see it happen. When we act on our faith is pushes us toward the answer we're believing for.

With every heartbeat faith should be pulsating through our lives. When we allow it to move through us, Heaven is unleashes to bring answers our way. As faith grows, answers come. Let faith grow in your heart with these easy steps:

1. Read the Bible daily, Rom. 10:17
2. Pray in the understanding and in tongues every day, 1 Thess. 5:17 and Acts 1:8
3. Go to church, Heb. 10:24-25

Let me know what you think about faith!

  1. Today's discipleship was amazing!! I learned about faith and ways to put it into action, and I learned more about exactly what Faith is. I also learned that Faith without works is dead so you have to DO something for your Faith to work. You cant just hope hope hope hope hope you have to actually go out and try try try try try so that your Faith can work with you actions. We also got to do it on our own with an obstacle course, we had Faith that we could finish it and we put our Faith to action by doing it and pressing towards our goal, finishong the course. So, if you have Faith (the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of the things not seen)if you add actions/ works you can do anything you put your heart to, as long as you do it for the Glory of Jesus. You can get your proof/evidence to go with your Faith from the Word of God. When we do the things we learned in Discipleship we can grow our Faith an make it MUCH bigger, and the bigger the Faith we have the more answers you can get from God. Thank you SO much for teaching us, it will help us for as long as we live.

    1. Doers are the ones who win! Athletes have to compete to become winners. When they 'do' or compete they can beat the opponents: compete to beat.

You did a great job in class today. I'm proud of you for tackling the obstacle course.

  2. My name is Niko Thibodeaux!Today when I came to Discipleship,You awsome pastors have made me realize that I should pray for you.Because I also learned that there is not just one person in the world who has a problem,It`s the whole world. So that should encorage people to not just pray for pastors, but also pray for all the people around you.Pray for family, pastors, hobos, people you never met before, someone in the store, or even go to a place your not supposed to.Although you will have to deal with your parents, but when you tell them what you did that should put your parents frown upside down! Also I liked that you taught me about faith today, because If you also pray for something you need to have faith that you will get what you desire.Like when you go to sleep have a dream that you are using what you desire.(I do that when I want something). But if your just wishing for it and you don`t pray,God`s like,"Your not looking like you want it,so have faith and pray. Thank you!

    1. Way to get after it! Witnessing is a huge part of a Christian's life. We always have to be careful about where we go and use wisdom, but God will guide us. Sometimes He talks to our hearts and sometimes He talks through our parent and leaders. Listening is the key.

Tomorrow is going to be another exciting day. Get ready for a great morning!

  3. This is an awesome God promising program I've learned so much about something that I'm struggling with, faith. Faith is an undying substance it might go down a bit but it never really leaves almost like God's undying love but it doesn' t go down. I learned about putting faith in myself and letting God take over in me. I was afraid of getting laughed at in the obstacle courses, but I heard God saying just let them laugh you only should care about what I tell you. CYC Discipleship.Shout out to my favorite youth pator,Pastor Cat,you are amazing you've changed my life so much already. And may God bless you in everything and anything. From, Reyna a.k.a Penguin

  4. Hi! My name is kion Thibodeaux and that discipleship lesson was very inspiring today. You taught me that you don't have to just have faith in church, you should have it everywhere you go. Faith is having trust and believing in everything you do. That lesson you taught us today will continue to flourish in people's hearts and souls. You will continue to inspire people all around. I know that you need to put all yoour faith into action( you could always use faith physically not just mentally). you can't jus wish all the time and expect your blessing to just fall right out of the sky. No!! You gotta work for what you want and that's putting your faith into action. Like an example, in Mark 2, " man through the roof" that man was very blessed. Did you know that? Why was he so blessed? Because he had great friends that brung him unto to jesus and had faith that jesus could heal him. and they got what they wanted because they had faith. Always keep your faith and never forget to pray. Everyday pray for the people you care and love and read your bible. Thanks for the lesson and have a blessed day. Thank You!! Kion Thibodeaux out:)

  5. Discipleship was, just amazing, today. I cant wait for tomorrow and the days after. I had not realized this week is Pastor Appreciation Week too! Everything we wrote down to pray for our pastors is very important. I talked to my mom after Discipleship about the word you spoke to us. Reading over the prayers, i felt as though i was still in Discipleship! It was because of the anointing and the love of God, it still has not left me for the day :)
I spoke like i was speaking it from my heart, because you opened it. "1.Your (pastors) weakness's will not show, that they become immune to them and become strengthened," and "4. The devil will never make them think their work is worthless, and they wasted their time on something that will not happen," are only 2 of the 7 prayers, i thought to myself when chatting to my mom about it, "You can not work on 6 of the 7 things, and just 'hope' the last one will work on its own. You cant expect (5.)their dreams stay big, if (4.)they think their worthless! All of these prayers are important(especially if your praying for a pastor). If we dislike one of the prayers and fantasize it doesn't come true, but agree on the others, we just (6.)have hidden motives in the church, even if we do not realize it ourselves." It even goes with everything else in our lives. We can not hope or pray for/about something without putting any work with it. Are we really even pure in our prayers if something we believe in is against what we'r praying for? God gave us the power to SHOW our faith, yet we just SAY and 'ACT' like we have faith? To be honest, i have done it before, the devil shunned the light, and i let him. I acted like a christian, but i in my heart did not feel like one. This year i have been becoming immune to weaknesses and putting my works into action with my faith, trust and love in God.

    1. I'm so glad the Pastor Prayers ministered to you today. That book really spoke to me too. That's a powerful statement about the anointing going with you even after class. How powerful?!

  6. I have been going to Discipleship for the past few years and each one gets better and better. The subject this year so far is Faith. Today Pastor Catt read Hebrews 11 (A.K.A the Faith chapter) and showed us how we need to use our own Faith to help it grow. You can always ask other people to pray for you and it will help their Faith grow, but we need to pray over our self and others as well because it helps our own Faith grow. We need to speak Faith over each other and our own self to have our own Faith grow.

  7. Let me just say, wow, the sermon was good. What I got out of it is with faith you can do anything. Faith without works is dead and we don't just need to talk about God and the good things he does, but we should actually go out and pray over people and ourselves. That's what I got out of it and it will just keep getting better.

  8. You need to exercise your faith by reading your Bible, by praying for others and yourself and by going to church.

  9. Tierra Rudisill:
Discipleship was awesome. I learned about faith. One of my favorit scriptures was Hebrews 11:1 that talks about faith. We learned how our faith grows and how to make it grow in our own lives and my faith is getting bigger by me reading my Bible every day and by Gods word.

  10. Disipleship 2012, beleive it or not this is my first time going. I'm excited for the next few weeks ahead, and ready to let my godly side out.
The first day of disipleship was awesome as of any day of church. The very first thing we did was go over what we will be doing from now until June 22. Everyday we will also do prayer for 15 minutes, to make sure we have talked to god and given time to talk to him, make sure he unserstands us all. We will be doing regular classes from 10-12 pm for the first two weeks and 8-1pm for the last week which is working at VBS. We also said stuff we need to bring, those being a bible, a notebook, and a pencil or pen. Our homework hasnt yet started but we must blog at Cathrinerudolph.com everyday. Remember this if your going into our disipleship classes.
Our first lesson was on why and what we should pray for our pastors. Your paster may have been experiancing problems, maybe he/she prays for them but you can always help them.

    Pray for your pastors!

Pray your pastors' weeknesses are not publicly known and streangthen their qualities.
Pray that your pastors' self portrait will never be damaged.
Pray your pastors' love and trust for others will never fail.
Pray the devil can and will never convince your pastors that their lives are useless.
Pray god will swiftly expose anyone close to your pastor that will take him/her down.
Pray your pastor will always be blessed.
The next lesson we were given was over faith. What is faith? Faith is your trust in god, you can excersie and streangthen your faith or leave it alone. Always have faith, even if it's just alittle, work at building it up. Any faith is better than none. Hebrews 11 is all about faith, if you read that section of the bible, they talk alot about it, showing how everyone had faith, you do to. Faith is a constant thing, how, simple, you always have faith no matter what. Faith is supernatural. Natural is seeing the color of someone's clothes, and saying ' Oh, you have a black jacket on!! ' no, supernatural is better, and allows you to press into god. Press into your faith, don't let it go to waist. You need your own faith, dont go leaning on your pastors and fellow church members, if your going to talk to god, your have faith, faith for faith. Romans chapter 10 and verse 11 says 'So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of god'. Faith is god. Acts chapter 1 and verse 8 says this ' But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. ' by faith you receive power. Hebrews 11:24 says ' By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;'. Moses had faith to refuse to be called toe son of Phraroah's daughter, he had the faith to say no. When faith is real, it's something immediate, it wont wait.
Don't irritate others, prevoke or push them unto the love and good works, not forsaking ourselves. Keep others on track as you keep yourself on track with them. Watch those you care about, don't let them fall when others have given out.
After the lessons today, we decided to have alittle challenge, Girls must jump rope 25 times, run to the cone, shuffle to the next cone, backwards run to the next, run to the first cone, bear claw run to next station, run like your running through tires, jump hoop to hoop while being pelted with balls, jump on a stool, jump down, jump over with 1 stool and jump over 2nd stool, run over a log, and run to start. Confusing right? Coaches kept us on track. Guys had to do the same thing only 50 jump ropes and jump on a stool, jump down and jump over 2 stools. After the kids went, we got some preachers and pastors to do it, and we threw water at them. Fun day for the first day of disipleship. Hope it continues.

  11. Day 1 of Discipleship was fantastical! I learned that it's Pastor Appreciation Week. (: I also learned about the numerous ways to pray over your pastors. That was just the preparation of an awesome mini sermon about faith! Pastor Catherine quoted the scripture "Faith is a supernatural attribute that Christians use everyday.", coming from Romans 10:17. I believe she was speaking the truth. She also mentioned that the MORE you exercise your FAITH the stronger it gets. To get the point across they did a little experiment to give us a visual of what happens when our faith grows. Afterwards we all gathered outside for a faith tested obstacle course. We needed not to lean on our own understanding, but to trust in the Lord that we could finish.

  12. faith is an important thing to have. without faith we have no hope, and no reason to beleive. faith is an act of imagination and believing in the miracles that God has given us. we have faith in God and what he does. without faith, whats the point of living? God gives us faith, and on that faith, we believe. Christians have strong faith in the name of Jesus.

  13. Faith is the substance of things not seen. Faith is what allows us Christians to be so different from the world. It is what gives us hope and allows us to worship and pray to a god we know is the one and ONLY God. Along with this faith, God gives us the advantage to have miracles and blessing fill our lives. We walk out with faith and God shows His presence at our side.

  14. After the lesson I now know that Faith is your belief in that God is real and that you will live for him and only him.It is also your weapon against the enemy and if you are strong in the spirit the enemy will always flee which proves that you are truly strong.
